Adam Bowes grew up in the small coastal town of Yamba on the Far North Coast of New South Wales, Australia.
He performed in numerous musicals and furthered his creativity through making short films;
casting family and friends. He also created a Youtube Channel in 2008 that he continues to add to in his spare time.
Adam was an avid swimmer, breaking seven Australian Age Records and competed in the Youth Paralympic Games in 2009. He completed his HSC at Maclean High School in 2011, majoring in Music, Drama and Advanced English.
In 2012 he moved to Sydney to focus on developing his acting and singing. As well as appearing in several musicals in the Western suburbs, he completed a 2 Year Diploma in Screen Acting at Screenwise in 2013.
After studying at Screenwise he appeared in several short films and was a major supporting role in the Web Series 'Call me Katie' and its sequel 'Nothing Like the Sun' as George Gleeson for which he won a Literary Inspired Web Series Award for Best Onscreen Chemistry with Steven Christie. After filming 'Call Me Katie', Adam had his first on screen appearance in the feature film 'Hacksaw Ridge', getting the chance to work with Andrew Garfield and Mel Gibson.
In 2016 Adam started studying at the Australian Institute of Music, developing his vocal ability as well as dance and acting. Whilst studying at AIM he also filmed a small role in 'Winchester' with Jason Clarke and played Kyle in the short film 'Jeremy the Dud' created by Robot Army which won the Audience Award and Best Overall Film Award at Flicks4Change in LA.
At the end of 2017 he graduated from AIM with a Bachelor of Music (Musical Theatre) where he performed his graduating recital 'Define Normal'.
In 2018, Adam appeared on ABC's 'The Angus Project' with Nina Oyama whom then invited him to co-write a sketch entitled 'NDIS Fails' for Tonightly with Tom Ballard. He was also selected from hundreds of applicants to be a part of Australia's first diversity showcase; with Simon Burke coming on board as his mentor.
In 2019, he made a guest appearance on Netflix's 'Rostered On', reteaming with the Robot Army crew. Adam was then in an episode of ABC's 'The Recording Studio', in which he surprised his fiance Sarah, with a recording of their first dance song to be played at their wedding at the end of 2019.
In 2020 Adam made a guest appearance on ABC's 'The Heights' and was also a Co-Director and Co-Writer on the short film 'Diving In', with Nina Oyama, in which he also starred. The short premiered at Sydney Film Festival and played in multiple festivals around the world.
Since the Covid-19 lockdowns, Adam has been working on multiple projects including ABC's 'Wakefield' and is currently writing his next film.

In December 2010, Adam Bowes made a speech to those gathered at the Raymond Laurie Sports Centre in Yamba, who were celebrating the International Day of People with Disability.
Adam, who attended Yamba Public and Maclean High schools, is a double above the knee amputee, born without tibia bones in his legs.
